On 12 January 2007, the respective Representatives of Botswana and Burkina Faso to the United Nations in New-York, Ambassadors Samuel Otsile Outlule and Michel Kafando, signed a joint communiqué related to the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The establishment of this relation illustrates from the Burkina’s perspective, its willingness to strengthen its openness to the world as well as its place on the international arena.
